For more detailed information click on our Fact Sheets tab.You may use the information request form to request further information on particular services that LES offers. Information Request Form (Click Here) LES manages its projects in accordance with the Prince2 Project Management methodology. LES has provided Project Management Services to Defence and Defence contractors, where specific skills are required for short periods to achieve a given outcome. LES resources allow a rapid response to customer requirements. LES staff have developed a software interface for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) and Royal Australian Navy (RAN) to validate and export MIL-STD-1388-2B data to populate the List Of Configuration and Authorised Spares (LOCAS) element of the Computer Aided Maintenance Management 2 (CAMM2) information system. LES developed a 'Level of Repair Analysis' (LORA) software tool that has been used to support the ILS package for the Australian ANZAC Class Frigates. LES staff populated the LORA database in accordance with MIL-STD-1390. The resulting database provides the basis for developing maintenance policy for the RAN and assisted the Contractor to conduct a Life Cycle Costing (LCC) analysis to support through life support considerations.
LES has an experienced team of technical authors who have written maintenance schedules, quality management systems, quality procedures and technical documentation. LES has developed Company Operating Procedures for the management of certified components for a major Defence capital acquisition. LES has been responsible for the authoring and publication of complex repair and maintenance manuals including illustrated parts manuals. The projects included the investigation of maintenance and repair requirements and the development and validation of techniques required to document the maintenance requirements of an item or equipment throughout its service life. In today's electronic age, many companies are digitising existing technical documentation and producing new documentation entirely in electronic form. LES can produce digital format documentation.
LES embraces the principles of Integrated Logistics in the provision of its services. Its multi-disciplined team has broad experience in the provision of cost effective solutions. LES has conducted Life Cycle Cost Analysis on production machinery for the automotive industry. The analysis resulted in an 80% saving in the through life cost of the equipment by justifying the purchase of new equipment.
LES experienced training developers, instructors and lecturers capable of tailoring logistics and maintenance training to meet the specific needs of customers, including the development and delivery of: ILS training packages for practitioners and managers; Specialist Software training; Workplace Specialist Training and Development; Aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul courses for supervisors and managers; and Failure Modes, Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) training that can be customised as required.
The LES Quality Management System has been developed in accordance with AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Systems. LES has the capability to facilitate the development and implementation of Quality Management Systems in accordance with the AS/NZS ISO 9000:2000 series of Standards.
LES can conduct FMEA and FMECA on individual components, complete systems or fleets of equipment. FMECA conducted during design can provide data that influences design and provide the basis of maintenance considerations and policies for through life support. FMECA identifies the modes of failure, the effects of each failure, the criticality of each in terms of safety and operational capability. FMECA results in detailed information used for the development of corrective and preventive maintenance requirements. FMEA is applied to in-service equipment to validate design and provides data on areas requiring modification or improvement. When combined with a Level of Repair Analysis, FMECA and FMEA provide cost effective improvements to maintenance policy.
LES can conduct RCM on individual components, complete systems or fleets of equipment. Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) is the logic used to identify preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, to maintain the inherent level of equipment reliability at minimum cost. The philosophy and methodology of RCM resulted from studies into failure patterns performed by the American aviation industry's 'Maintenance Steering Group' (MSG) during the 1970's and 1980's. RCM analysis is a systematic approach to analysing system reliability to determine the applicability and effectiveness of preventive maintenance tasks.
