LES can conduct FMEA and FMECA on individual components, complete systems or fleets of equipment.
FMEA is applied to in-service equipment to validate design and provides data on areas requiring modification or improvement.

FMECA identifies the modes of failure, the effects of each failure, the criticality of each in terms of safety and operational capability. FMECA results in detailed information used for the development of corrective and preventive maintenance requirements.
FMECA conducted during design can provide data that influences design and provide the basis of maintenance considerations and policies for through life support.
When combined with a Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), FMECA and FMEA provide cost effective improvements to maintenance policy.
Maintenance Program Optimisation
Maintenance Program Optimisation, a methodology used to optimise an existing maintenance program focusing on the applicability and effectiveness of individualmmaintenance tasks.
Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM)
Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) is the logic used to identify preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, to maintain the inherent level of equipment reliability at minimum cost.
The philosophy and methodology of RCM resulted from studies into failure patterns performed by the American aviation industry's 'Maintenance Steering Group' (MSG) during the 1970's and 1980's. RCM analysis is a systematic approach to analysing system reliability to determine the applicability and effectiveness of preventive maintenance tasks.
